We’re doing something different. It’s not the same as your typical outdoor bootcamp.
You’re not doing endless burpees, jump squats or high knees. You definitely won’t be squeezing 50 reps of one exercise into a 30 second time frame.
At this event, your progress will be measured in a different way.
We are all about teaching you how to rethink your fitness so that you’re maximizing on the time you’ve invested in your workouts.
With this event our goal is to assess your current fitness levels and empower you to transition into the gym without risk of injury and to become your best strongest self.
That starts with understanding where you’re at with your fitness.
Besides, we’ve all had to work with whichever gym equipment we’ve had available for our at-home workouts for the past two years.
That said, fitness capabilities won't be what they were when gyms were open, pre-Covid.
With gyms on the verge of opening back up, we, at Ferris360 want to help you get back into the weight rooms safely.
Which is why we want to invite you to Best Yourself.
Introducing Best Yourself
We will be hosting a two hour outdoor fitness meetup that will include free body compositions, fitness assessments and cardio endurance assessments.
These outdoor meetups will happen three times during the summer at June Rowlands Park for the following dates and times:
Snacks and water will be included.
SIGN UP HERE to attend the sessions. The cost is by donation. Pay what you can and all proceeds will be donated to Water First.
What is Best Yourself?
Best Yourself is an outdoor fitness experience where your fitness capabilities are assessed to get you back in the gym safely.
With COVID-19 restrictions lifting, gyms will be opening soon. After doing at-home workouts for two years, how will you know if you’re able to lift the same weight properly?
If you’re tired of investing the time into a workout, without noticing any results, how will you know if your current regiment is working for you?
We’ve created this outdoor fitness experience to help you train smarter without having to work much harder.
There's best the adjective and there's best the verb.
At the end of the day, the only person we should be tracking against is ourselves. Are we better than yesterday?
If you come to more than one event, you can see if you've bested yourself. If you only come to one, no problem, you can set up a free session with a trainer at another time to check your progress.
Best Yourself will help you:
If you’re looking to get back in the gym and recommit to your fitness, Best Yourself will provide you with the right tools to get started. SIGN UP HERE to attend the sessions.
Your progress will be measured based on three different categories:
1. Cardio endurance
Cardio endurance through aerobic exercises measures how well your body can perform during extended periods of exercise.
Assessing your cardio endurance will help you identify where improvements can be made.
Not only does cardio reduce your risk of heart disease, it helps circulate blood to muscle groups so they’re warmed up for your workout.
Incorporating some cardio into your strength workouts will help you see noticeable results and testing your cardio endurance frequently will help you see your progress.
Remember. Your fitness journey should be about celebrating progress in all forms.
At Best Yourself, your cardio endurance will be tested to help you establish a starting point so you can observe the progress as your fitness routine continues.
2.Muscular capacity
Muscular endurance tests measure the muscle’s ability to resist fatigue. This is a key indicator of how much weight you can lift for more reps.
Understanding your muscular endurance is an indication of your strength- which is important to know if you’re going to be weight training in the gym.
At Best Yourself you’ll be working with a personal trainer to measure your muscular capacity so you can get back to the gym safely.
3.Body composition
The number on the scale is only the tip of the iceberg. You should never take it for face value.
There are so many other factors to consider.
Body compositions are a more comprehensive way to measure your physical health. They measure your muscle mass, body fat mass and body water.
It’s important to consistently measure your body composition so you can notice the changes in your muscle mass.
Once you start paying attention to muscle mass and body fat percentage, the number on a regular scale will only be another data point.
At Best Yourself, there will be individual areas for you to measure your body composition.
It’s important to know your fitness level in each category. This information will enable you to have a targeted approach for your workouts.
If there are areas that need improvement, it’s better to know what you need to work on before you get back into the gym.
Remember. For personal training, context is everything.
At personal training studios, assessing your fitness capacity will help personal trainers identify where you need improvement.
They’ll design a fitness program tailored specifically to your needs and goals so that you will see noticeable results. Not to mention, you’ll also feel better.
Understanding what you need to improve and why you are doing certain workouts will be motivation for you to execute your movements properly and frequently.
A fitness assessment based on data creates a baseline that provides a perfect starting point for you.
In-depth personalized assessments that are in line with your individual fitness goals delivers a clear idea about where you stand and how to plan a journey towards your goal.
With a set baseline, it’s easier to track your progress as you move through the year with a new training plan. At the same time, it gives you an idea of how effective the training program is.
You’re anxious to get back into the gym. We get it.
The only thing that has gotten in the way of our fitness goals is the lack of equipment at home. Banded workouts using the same weights can only be so effective- and that’s okay.
Which is why it’s important to understand where you’re at with your strength and endurance before you go full throttle in the gym.
You have to walk before you run.
At Best Yourself we will help you transition back into the gym safely and effectively by providing you with the right tools and information.
Having the right tools will drastically improve your workouts and you will start to see noticeable changes.
If you’re looking to start your fitness journey on the right track, SIGN UP HERE to attend.
